Fabric: Whisper stories of heritage and craft.

Behind every Achin Bindlish design is a story woven into the fabric. Let me take you behind the scenes of how we select our materials.

Picture a bustling workshop filled with swatches from around the world—each one tested, touched, and loved until we find “THE ONE.”

One of my favorite memories? Discovering a rare, handwoven silk in a small Indian village. It had the softest sheen and a weight that promised elegance. We turned it into a modern lehenga that became a bestseller. Our fabrics don’t just clothe; they whisper stories of heritage and craft.

Let’s talk about the small yet powerful decisions that go into choosing fabrics. Each selection starts with the question: what story do we want this piece to tell? Then there are the unexpected finds, like a patterned jacquard we recently stumbled upon. It reminded us of ripples in a quiet lake, and soon enough, it became the inspiration for a line of flowing gowns.

One aspect we’re especially proud of is working closely with local artisans. These collaborations allow us to explore unique weaving techniques and support traditional crafts. Take, for example, our work with a cooperative in Rajasthan specializing in block printing. The intricate motifs they create bring an artisanal touch to our designs, and the connection with their heritage is something our clients deeply appreciate.

Beyond aesthetics, we’re committed to style and customization. Many of our fabrics are sourced with care to minimize environmental impact. And then there are the fabrics that surprise us. During one sourcing trip, we discovered a vibrant ikat fabric that immediately stole our hearts. We hadn’t planned for it, but its bold, geometric design sparked the idea for a limited-edition capsule collection. That’s the beauty of working with fabrics: they often lead the way, unlocking creativity we didn’t know we had.

Our fabrics don’t just clothe; they whisper stories of heritage and craft, proving that fashion can be as meaningful as it is beautiful. Whether it’s a luxurious silk lehenga or a casual cotton tunic, every piece starts with the belief that fabric is where the magic begins.
